What’s Inspiring Us Now: Fall Edition
Autumn’s onset can feel like a gentle sprinkle of crisp air and mulling spices, like buying bagfuls of apples, or even hemming and hawing about the right timing to whip out the thick jacket. For Superhumans, there are also pieces of media, outdoor (!) activities, and general holiday festivities to feed our minds. Here’s a selection of what’s inspiring.
Reservation Dogs Season 2 was great! Going to rewatch “Woodlands Dark and Days Bewitched” to welcome in spooky season.
I really like the paintings of Jean Mallard. They remind me of children’s books: colorful, mystical, spooky, imaginative.

Braiding Sweetgrass has been on my bookshelf for several months now. I started it and have been meaning to get back into it. I have also been reading Surf Shacks by Matt Titone for maybe over a year now.. that one is more photography eye-candy though.
“The season! I love Halloween so much, the entire month of October is like a holiday to me. I’ve been bookmarking everything seasonal and spooky: recipes, events, DIY tutorials, horror movies coming to a theater (or streaming service) near me, et cetera ad infinitum. I have three skull-shaped muffin molds and a Michael’s trip planned this weekend—I already know I’ll be leaving with a bucket of eyeballs. Life is good.”
